Caring For Your Pearls

Caring For Your Pearls

More delicate than other gemstones, or precious metals, Pearls need special care to ensure they remain clean, bright and lustrous for generations to come.

The classic rule of Pearls is still "Last on, First off" which means they should be the last thing you put on before walking out the door, and the first thing you take off when you get home.

Here is what our Pearl Experts say in regards to caring for your precious Pearl Jewellery:

"Pearls should always be put on after the application of makeup, perfume and hairspray. It is a good idea to wipe down your pearls with a soft moist cloth to remove any traces of these harmful elements.
Keep your pearls away from anything hard or sharp that may scratch the surface. Pearls are best stored in a soft cloth pouch or a separately lined compartment in a jewellery box.
Body oils, cosmetics and daily wear can weaken the thread on your pearls. If you wear them often, it is best to have them restrung at least once a year."
