We are required by law to sight and take a copy of your Physical Government issued photo ID, this can be a Passport or Drivers Licence. They must be current or no more than 2 years past its expiry date.
GOLD FAQs
Will you buy my gold?
- Most likely, yes.
- It depends on what kind of gold it is (e.g. 9ct, 14ct, 18ct, 22ct, alluvial, coins, bullion, etc).
- We do not buy gold plated items.
Do I need to make an appointment?
- Often no appointment is needed.
- If you have a large amount of items, we will need some time to go through the items and may need to take them in for up to a week to calculate pricing.
- If you require a price on a certain day, then by getting in touch first, we can let you know the best time to come in.
Where do I bring my gold to?
- We are at 421 Colombo St, Christchurch.
- Our store is open from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, and 10am-2pm Saturday. We are closed on public holidays.
Do you buy silver or other items?
- We do buy silver. Once again it depends what kind of silver it is.
- We often buy - and sell - gold and silver jewellery, bars and coins.
How much will you pay?
- It depends on what type of gold (or silver) that you have to sell.
- The price is updated daily.
Can you give me a price over the phone?
- We can offer an estimate over the phone however we would need to see the items to confirm the price we may offer.
- For example, a 9ct ring is a different price to a 22ct ring, and a silver 1 ounce coin is a different price to a 1 ounce gold coin.
How soon do I get paid?
- We pay via direct bank transfer and payments are made at approx 3pm. If this time frame is missed then the payment will be processed the following business day.
- This is from Monday to Friday.
- Any weekend transactions will be transferred to the Monday.
